The opening ceremony of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, with the story of a snowflake as its main theme, is a stylish, romantic, and beautiful artistic expression that not only shows the world the confident and vigorous spirit of China in the new era but also expresses the Chinese people's willingness to share the same breath and destiny with all the peoples of the world and their pursuit of the future together. We witnessed the historic moment when the Olympic motto of "Faster, Higher, Stronger, Together" and China's internationalist spirit of building a "human community of a shared future" converged.

In the opening ceremony team of masters, we surprisingly found the figure of outstanding alumni of Wuhan Textile University. It turns out that the visual effects team of the opening ceremony was directed by Jiang Shan, a 2013 graduate of the School of Art and Design of Wuhan Textile University. In 2015, she was selected from many students candidates to gain the opportunity to study and exchange with Santa Fe University of Art and Design in the United States during the summer vacation.

During her month-long overseas study tour, Jiang Shan seized every opportunity to learn the world's cutting-edge knowledge of visual communication and photography techniques, fully exercising her cross-cultural understanding, communication, exchange, and expression skills, laying a solid foundation for her to stand on the stage of the world's highest sporting event to convey contemporary Chinese wisdom to the world and showcase modern Chinese culture in the new era. Today, Jiang Shan, a master student in digital media art at the China Academy of Art, is part of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and under the guidance of Zhang Yimou, the chief director, she led a team mainly responsible for ground screen and performing arts, involving hardware and software, broadcast control and many other subjects, as the "intelligent brain" of the opening ceremony, after more than three years of hard work, she has finally successfully completed this glorious national task. She said: "I am proud to stand on the stage of the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games and face the world with Chinese technology to create Chinese cultural connotations. As a new generation of Chinese youth, we should strengthen our national pride and cultural self-confidence, and contribute to the realization of the "Chinese dream" of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Since 2015, WTU has taken the opportunity to develop exchange and cooperation with the world's leading universities through overseas study and exchange programs and has created long and short-term study programs for students from various discipline groups.

According to Lin Li, Director of the International Office and Dean of the School of International Education, there are many outstanding students at our university like Jiang Shan who have gone overseas to study. Every year, students from different subject areas are identified as candidates for the overseas study tour program through oral and written English examinations as well as professional assessment and selection. The teachers in the International Exchange Center organize training and seminars for the students on the culture of the country and the knowledge of the study tour, and after they return home, they summarize their studies and share their experiences. It is because of the special experiences they have had before and after their overseas study trips that these students have a unique international perspective and cross-cultural communication qualities.

In the future, WTU will further introduce quality overseas teaching and curriculum resources. At the same time, more online resources will be used to increase the "outreach" of Chinese teachers and students. At the same time, we will further build up an international learning and exchange platform, so that more Chinese and foreign teachers and students can learn from each other, make progress together, exchange and learn from each other, and improve understanding, making new and greater contributions to promoting the opening of education to the outside world in the new era, telling the Chinese story and building human community of a shared future.
