A lot of famous scholars and experts are working in our university. They are major force of the scientific reasearch in the field of Textile, Fashion, Art Design, Engeneering and so on.

·Yao Mu (dual-appointed), an academician of Chinese Academy of engineering, professor, and doctoral supervisor, has long been engaged in the research and teaching of textile materials and has explored a new research area of human body wear comfort. He has developed a variety of textile equipment, drafted many national and military standards, and won numerous National Science and Technology Progress Awards and provincial and ministerial awards. Besides, he has edited and translated dozens of books, published more than 100 papers, and trained a large number of Textile Science and Technology experts for the country.

·Tian Huiyu, He was assigned as the party secretary of Wuhan Textile in October of 2020. His main research areas include Marxist theory and sci-tech philosophy. He has acting as vice chairman of Hubei Provincial Research Institute in Dialectics of Nature, vice chairman of Hubei Provincial Jinchu Culture Research Institute, vice chairman of Hubei Provincial Campus Research Institute and Hubei Provincial University Students Psychological Health Education Institute, commissioner of both Hubei Provincial and Wuhan Municipal Association for Social Sciences. He has conducted 2 projects supported by National Social Science Foundation (NSSF), 1 project supported by Hubei Provincial Social Science Foundation, and 1 Soft Science project supported by Hubei Provincial Department of Science and Technology, 1 project supported by Wuhan Municipal Social Science Foundation, and 8 other projects supported by Hubei Provincial Department of Education. His project supported by National Social Foundation: Thought on Marx’s Rational Criticism and Its Contemporary Significance —— Theory on Social Criticism of Frankfurt School was assessed as excellent upon completion. He has also published over 50 papers in Chinese core periodicals such as Modern Philosophy, Jianghan Forum, Journal of Hubei University, of which there are 10-plus papers reprinted by duplicate publication materials of Renmin University of     China , or indexed by CSSCI. He has obtained one award by Ministry of Human Resources, the second prize for Hubei Provincial teaching achievements, the first prize for Education Achievements of Hubei Provincial University Students Psychological Health, the third prize of Wuhan Municipal Social Science, etc. He has successively been awarded the honorary titles such as “Excellent Party Member” by CPC Working Committee of Hubei Provincial Colleges and Universities, “Excellent Representative of Expertise Management” by Hubei Provincial Department of Human Resources, and “Excellent Representative of the Sixth National Demographic Census”. He has also enjoyed the specialized allowance by Hubei Provincial People’s Government, as the first batch of elected candidates in the Hubei Provincial Cultivation Program for Marxism Young and Middle-aged Theorists in Colleges and Universities.

·Xu Weilin, Professor, Ph.D, doctoral supervisor, specially invited professor of Chutian Scholar Program, contact experts of Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, enjoying special government allowances of State Council. director of cultivation base of Hubei Provincial New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technology, a national key laboratory jointly established by Hubei province and Ministry of Education since February of 2010. Since October of 2020, Prof. XU has been acting as the president of WTU and deputy secretary of its CPC’s standing committee to date. With his main research work in the field of textile materials, he has also been acting as vice chairman of China Textile Engineering Society, chairman of Hubei Provincial Textile Engineering Society, senior member of American Institute of Chemical Engineer (AIChE), senior member of The Fiber Society, U.S., consultant expert of Hubei Provincial People’s Government, director of technical commission under Hubei Provincial Fiber Inspection Bureau, council member of Hubei Provincial Youth Scientific & Technological Workers. From June of 1997 to April 4 of 1999, he was conducting his post-doctoral research in Sichuan University. Since the March of 1999, he has been conducting joint research with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU), the Texas State University and the California  State University, etc. He has also been presiding over and participating into 30-plus projects, including the national key technology R & D programs, the national sci-tech supporting plans, the “973” national high & new technology fundamental research projects, as well as the scientific research projects supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has been successively awarded the second prize of national technological invention, the first prize of national scientific and technological progress, the first prize of Hubei provincial technological invention. Besides his 140 published papers both at home and abroad to be indexed by SCI, he has also been granted 5 invention patents in US and 58 invention patents in     China . He has been successively awarded such honorary titles as Figure of the Year for China’s textile innovation, winner of outstanding achievement granted by The Fiber Society, winner of the 11th Youth Sci-tech Award of China, Winner of Hubei Provincial Prize for Outstanding Distribution, Winner of Sci-tech Innovation Award by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, winner of China Textile Academic Grand Prize, Mulberry & Ramie Scholar, Distinguished Figure with Accomplishments in Textile Industry to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Reform and Opening Policy in China. Besides the support by National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, he has been successively granted such honors as specialized allowance by Hubei Provincial People’s Government, winner of Hubei Provincial May 4th Youth Medal, winner of the Best Ten Distinguished Youth in Hubei Province, winner of the May Day Labor Medal by Hubei Province, the Excellent Party Member granted by Hubei Provincial CPC Committee and winner of Specialized Allowance by the State Council of PRC, National Representative of Educational Ethics, winner of National May Day Medal, and winner of National Excellent Labor, etc.

·Mei Shunqi, professor,was elected academician of Russian Academy of natural sciences in 2018. He received Ph.D degree from Ivanovo University of technology in     Russia and was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan in the United States . At present, he is deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of new textile materials and advanced processing technology jointly built by the Ministry and Province Hubei , and director of Hubei Key Laboratory of digital textile equipment. He is invited as a doctoral supervisor by Deakin University in Australia and Altai National University of technology in Russia.He is a member of ASME of American Society of mechanical engineers, a Council member of China Textile Engineering Society, and a standing member of intelligent manufacturing Committee of China artificial intelligence society. He is mainly engaged in the research of textile equipment, functional fiber materials and their processing technology, and surface modification of metal materials, He has published more than 180 academic papers and monographs and won more than 40 invention patents. His achievements have won the Second Prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award of China and the first prize of Technological Invention Award of Hubei province. He was awarded the honorary titles of Government Special Paste Expert of the State Council of China, advanced Worker of Hubei Province, Innovative Person of the year (2019) of China's textile industry, etc..

·Victor, professor, Ph.D, doctoral supervisor, contemporary Academician of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Specially-engaged professor of WTU Laureate of “Chutian Scholar Program”, the “Chinese Bells Award ” granted by Hubei Provincial Government to Outstanding Foreign Experts, academic leader and fashion design chief professor in Ivanovo Textile University of Russia. Victor has many achievements in garment TTC research and apparel design research methods and garment CAD study, garment sewing technology, and has published 350 papers, 25 academic books, completed 130 research projects and obtained 65 Russian Federal Patents.

·Dr.Wang Dong,Chutian-talent of WTU” Chutian Scholar Program”. Now working for school  of Textile Science and Engineering, WTU, whose main research domain in fiber materials, macromolcule matrials,nano materials and functional materials. Graduating from in University of California at Davis in February,2008,in recent years,Dr.Wang has published over a dozen papers apers and applied for 2 patents in US, 9 patents in China as well as receiving awards by American Chemical Society and National Textile Center in US.

·Dr.Liu Kan, selected candidate of” Chutian Scholar Plan” to WTU. Now working for school of electronics and electrical engineering,WTU.the process of microelectronics, the design of integrated chip, chemical synthesize and biological technology. In recent 5 years, he has published 28 papers (of which 21were published in SCI,1 published in EI)as well as achieving 22 domestic invention patents, applying for 3 international invention patents and over 10     US patents.

·Dr.Wang Xin, selected candidate of” Chutian Scholar Plan”to WTU.After obtaining his doctorate degree in Deakin Unversity of Australia, he then completed post-doctoral program from HKPU ad is now working for school of Textile Science and Engineering,WTU.In recent 5years, he has published nearly 20 papers cited by SCI,as well as presiding over 1 Project subsidized by youth fund of the National Natural  Sciences Foundation and acquired 1 international patent.

·Dr.Wang Shengxiang, selected candidate of” Chutian Scholar Plan” to WTU.He is now working for Department of electronics and electrical engineering,WTU.His research domain mainly covers met materials of artificial media,micronanielectronics,functional thin films and related gadgets. Part of the research has been highlighted, with 13 papers published in international authoritative disciplinary journals (of which 12 published in SCI).

·Prof. Xiong Chuanxi, doctoral advisor, doctor, specially- engaged professor of “Sunshine Scholar Program’ and incumbent dean of School of Materials Science & Engineering, WTU. His research mainly focuses on the molding process of high polymer, organic and inorganic nanometer compound material.

·Prof. Tong xiaojun, Ph.D, master supervisor, specially- engaged professor of “Sunshine Scholar Program’’, WTU, who is conferred the honorary title of Young and Mid-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions by Hubei Provincial Government. His research fields mainly relate to partial differential equations and information processing. He has participated and presided over more than 10 projects of national and provincial levels. He has also published more than 40 papers in key academic periodicals both home and abroad , of which 20-plus have been indexed by the 4 major international index retrieval system such as SCI and EI.

·Dr. He Chiyang, master supervisor and specially- engaged professor of “Sunshine Scholar Program’’, WTU. His research mainly involve the processing of new molecular imprinting material, construction of new electro osmotic pump, developing of capillary monolithic column as well as new separation and analysis approaches.

·Prof. Yuan Dapeng, master supervisor, specially- engaged professor of “Sunshine Scholar Program’ WTU, His research fields mainly relate to fashion& art design.
