He is the leading figure in the art discipline at Wuhan Textile University and a dedicated practitioner of truth and beauty. He has been honored with numerous prestigious awards, including the "Textile Light" Teacher Award, the title of Outstanding Young and Middle-aged Expert with Distinguished Contributions in Hubei Province, and the Fourth "Chutian Gardener Award" of Hubei Province. Professor Fu Xin has dedicated over three decades to teaching and scientific research in the field of design. With an unwavering passion for education, he has consistently devoted himself to nurturing students on the teaching platform. His rigorous academic approach and exemplary character have profoundly influenced and inspired countless students, guiding them in their studies and resolving their doubts. He places significant emphasis on fostering students' innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities while caring deeply about their holistic development. Over the past three decades, he has cultivated a substantial number of distinguished professionals in the field. The courses he teaches are highly popular among students, earning him consistently high evaluations. His teaching achievements have garnered multiple prestigious awards, including the Hubei Provincial Teaching Achievement Award and the China National Textile and Apparel Council Teaching Achievement Award. 

While preserving Chinese traditional culture, Professor Fu focuses on cutting-edge issues in his discipline, specializing in historical building protection research. He has led numerous research projects funded by the Ministry of Culture, provincial philosophy and social science planning initiatives, and key research projects in the humanities and social sciences. He has published over 30 papers in core domestic and international journals. Additionally, he has collaborated extensively with government entities and enterprises on various design service projects, actively contributing strategic recommendations for the development of Hubei Province and promoting regional cultural advancement.

In the development of the art discipline at WTU, Vice President Fu Xin has provided unique insights and strategic directions. He emphasized that, first and foremost, the focus should be on team building, as it plays a crucial role in research excellence. The team is distinguished by its high caliber, comprising eight faculty members, including two professors and six newly minted Ph.D.s. Notably, over 70% of the Ph.D. holders have international study experience, and their research interests align closely with the Art Design School's strategic direction.

Secondly, in the realm of art theory research, they adopt a focused approach rather than a diffuse one, concentrating on the preservation and inheritance of Chinese traditional culture, with an emphasis on humanistic studies. Additionally, they prioritize internationalization through the translation of high-level scholarly works. Given that art theory encompasses history, theory, and criticism, significant advancements have been made in translating influential international texts, such as those supported by the Wisdom Fund project. This initiative also involves interdisciplinary collaboration between art and management disciplines, highlighting our distinctive approach to integrating diverse academic perspectives.

Furthermore, a key factor contributing to the success of projects is the commitment to preserving and promoting Chinese traditional culture. Another critical aspect is the integration of craftsmanship and artistry in cultural heritage—specifically, craft art—where they have invested substantial effort and resources in preparatory work. Finally, he underscored the importance of team cohesion and development, which will undoubtedly drive the college toward greater achievements in the future.

Brief Introduction of Fu Xin

Fu Xin, born in May 1969 in Wuhan, Hubei Province, is a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor. He currently serves as the Vice President of Wuhan Textile University, a second-level professor, and a specially-appointed Yangguang Scholar. Professor Fu is also the academic leader of the provincial key discipline of Design at Wuhan Textile University, the overall person-in-charge of the "Fashion Creative Culture" key advantageous and characteristic discipline group under the Hubei Provincial Department of Education, and the leader of the Hubei Provincial Outstanding Middle-aged and Young Scientific and Technological Innovation Team.

Professor Fu Xin's research primarily focuses on design theory and its applications in environmental design, interior design, and the preservation of modern historical buildings. In recent years, he has led and completed several significant projects, including one funded by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, one provincial-level philosophy and social science planning project, one key research project in the humanities and social sciences, and seven government and enterprise-commissioned design projects, with a cumulative research budget of RMB 3.5 million. He has published over 30 research papers in domestic and international core professional journals, and his design works have been selected for numerous domestic and international design exhibitions, earning multiple awards. Many of his research achievements have reached an advanced national level.

In terms of teaching, two of his teaching research achievements won the second and third prizes of the Seventh and Eighth Hubei Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Awards, respectively. Currently, Professor Fu is a member of the Architectural Society of China, a director of the Interior Design Branch of the Architectural Society of China, a judge for the Asian Design Annual Award, a director of the Hubei Provincial College Art and Design Teaching Guidance Committee, a member of the Urban and Public Space Professional Committee of the Wuhan Municipal Commission of Urban Construction, a recipient of the "Textile Light" Teacher Award of China, and a recipient of special government allowances from Hubei Province. He is also recognized as a mid-aged and young expert with outstanding contributions in Hubei Province.
