Recently, Professor Hu Xinrong, dean of School  of Mathematics and Computer Science, was awarded the title “Famous Teacher of Hubei” by Hubei Provincial Department of Education. Over the years, he integrated scientific and academic achievements into talent cultivation and paid attention to the professional levels and the training of teaching ability of the teaching team, which resulted in the formation of a great teaching team with high teaching level and prominent research ability. The team focused on teaching and research of information technology and was awarded successively the following items: an undergraduate major in artificial intelligence, a national first-class undergraduate construction major in Computer Science and Technology, Hubei excellent teaching team in Programming Course, Hubei excellent young and middle-aged scientific and technological innovative team in visual computing and digital weaving. Their teaching research results won Hubei Provincial teaching achievement award, teaching award of China National Textile Industry Council and so on. Their team thereby improved the quality of talent cultivation of Wuhan Textile University and promoted the development of Hubei education reform.

The brief introduction of Professor Hu Xinrong

Hu Xinrong, female, born in November 1973, in Wuhan,  Hubei Province, is a master's supervisor. She is the dean of school of Mathematics and Computer Science; manager of Hubei Garment Information Engineering Technology Research Center; visiting scholar to University of Texas at Austin, USA ; member of China Computer Federation and member of Chinese Society of Artificial Intelligence. She mainly works on research in computer vision, virtual reality and visual computing and has presided over more than 20 provincial and municipal scientific research projects and 8 teaching programs. She has published one translation, more than fifty academic papers and has edited five textbooks. She was awarded one provincial second prize for scientific and technological progress and four second prizes of provincial teaching achievement. She was also awarded honorary titles like “Famous Teacher of Hubei”. Professor Hu guided students to participate in China College Students’ ‘Internet+’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for many times and achieved good results.
