Wuhan Textile University has recently received approval from the relevant administrative authorities for the establishment of the Wuhan (China-Thailand) Joint Laboratory for Medical Fiber Materials and Technology under the Belt and Road Initiative.
This joint laboratory is guided by the principle of the "Four Orientations," aligning closely with the national Healthy China Plan. It actively supports the development of Hubei Province's modern textile industry, a key sector valued at 500 billion yuan, while focusing on the health industry in both Hubei Province and Wuhan City. The laboratory aims to address critical technological bottlenecks in rubber-based medical fiber materials and technologies through applied research. This work will provide a theoretical foundation and technical support for the independent innovation of medical fiber materials in China. By leveraging the scientific and technological resources as well as industrial advantages of both China and Thailand, the laboratory promotes international scientific and technological cooperation, broadens channels for exchange and collaboration, implements the China-Thailand Science and Innovation Program effectively, and fosters joint efforts between scientists from both countries to overcome key challenges, ultimately contributing to the betterment of humanity through science and technology.
Relying on the School of Bioengineering and Health at Wuhan Textile University, the Wuhan (China-Thailand) Joint Laboratory for Medical Fiber Materials and Technology under the Belt and Road Initiative will utilize its strengths in biomedical engineering to deepen scientific and technological cooperation, facilitate personnel exchanges, and enhance cultural communication with countries along the Belt and Road. This initiative will provide new momentum for the high-quality development of advanced textile industries in Hubei Province and contribute significantly to the construction of a Healthy China.
