From April 9th to 13th, the 50th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions was held in Switzerland. The exhibition showcased over 1,000 innovative achievements from nearly 40 countries and regions. Professor Wang Dong's team from the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education Institute of Technology achieved remarkable success with two groundbreaking technological innovations: the "Net Zero Carbon Nanofiber Filtration Separation Element" and the "Breathable Smart Fabric." These projects were awarded the exhibition's highest honor, the "Special Jury Prize Gold Award," and the "Bronze Award," respectively. This accomplishment underscores the university's international leadership in textile materials and products and marks the first time our institution has received such a prestigious international accolade.

At the exhibition, Professor Liu Ke from the Institute of Technology and Professor Wang Wenwen from the School of Materials, both members of Professor Wang Dong's team, presented their self-developed scientific and technological achievements. Among these, the "Net Zero Carbon Nanofiber Filtration Separation Element" leverages an innovative polylactic acid composite concept to achieve zero carbon emissions throughout its entire lifecycle while maintaining exceptional filtration performance. It has been successfully applied in biomedicine and electronic manufacturing and was highly praised by the review panel, earning the conference's top honor. The "Breathable Smart Fabric" utilizes a cleverly designed polyester fiber structure to endow textiles with human skin-like breathing functionality, enabling intelligent responses to humidity and temperature changes. This innovation has been effectively utilized in smart clothing applications and received the Bronze Award. Both achievements have undergone successful technological transfer, implemented by Wuhan Weichen Technology and Sinopec Yizheng Chemical Fibers, respectively.

The Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, established in the 1970s and co-organized by the Swiss Federal Government and the World Intellectual Property Organization, is one of the world's longest-running, largest, and most influential invention exhibitions. This year's event featured over 1,000 invention projects from more than 40 countries. Awards include the Special Commendation Gold Award, Gold Award, Silver Award, and Bronze Award. Notably, the "Special Commendation Gold Award" is selected from among the Gold Award winners and requires unanimous approval by the jury. The award-winning achievement of the Wuhan Textile University team not only highlights the institution's core competitiveness in the research and development of advanced textile materials but also brings international recognition to China's scientific and technological innovation efforts.
