On the morning of April 2nd, the opening ceremony of the seminar on safety of textile import and export trade for developing countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of China, was held in the smart conference room of No.9 teaching building in Sunshine Campus. Twenty-two officials from Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Peru and Iraq attended the opening ceremony.
Ji Chen, director of the International Office and director of the Foreign Aid Project Management Center, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He pointed out that under the guidance of promoting the concept of constructing “a community with a shared future for mankind”, China is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with all parties, enhance friendship and mutual trust, and jointly promote the high-quality development of the “Belt and Road Initiative”, so as to benefit the people's livelihood and social prosperity of developing countries and contribute to the implementation of the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Gabriela Ruth, adviser of the Prime Minister's Office of the National Defense Institute of Competition and Intellectual Property Protection in Peru; Yonas Habte Misgana, adviser of the Government of the Central State of Ethiopia; Hemn Ramadhan Mustafa, executive of Iraq Haymed Company; and Olusola Temitayo, official of Nigerian Industry, Commerce and Mining Association, spoke in turn as participants. They respectively introduced their countries' history, culture and current situation of textile industry development, and looked forward to strengthening exchanges with the faculties, learning from the experience of the counterparts in China, and actively promoting people-to-people and economy & trade exchanges between China and developing countries.
The 14-day seminar will further enable trainees to learn more about the achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics through themed lectures, exchanges and as well as visits. And it will also help students experience the path to China’s modernization so as to fully understand the significance of China’s modernization for the development of developing countries.
