Recently, Wuhan Textile University (WTU) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) signed the agreement on the establishment of international laboratory, which is the first time that WTU has a working relationship with the top level foreign scientific research institution, and it is also an important step in the process of opening up at a high level.

On October 9th, two experts, Alejandro Cifuentes and Elena Ibanez from the Institute of Food Science of the Spanish National Academy of Sciences, came to WTU to give lectures. Vice President Fu Xin expressed our intention to establish a joint laboratory with the Spanish National Academy of Sciences, and the two sides discussed the content and form of cooperation in the fields of life sciences & food sciences, and reached many consensuses. In order to integrate international innovation resources to develop of life and health cross-disciplinary, WTU set up the School of Bioengineering and Health of the school in 2023. Meanwhile, the aim of research programme led by the scientists from Spanish National Academy of Sciences is to explore the nature of life and intelligence as well. Both of them are of highly compatible similarities.

According to the agreement, the two sides will uphold the principle of win-win cooperation and mutual learning, give full play to the laboratory's cohesive effect. The platform will be widely attracted international experts and scholars to promote the reform of the internationalized teaching system and mode. Based on the establishment of laboratory, both sides plan to carry on a series of cooperative research projects so as to solve a number of key issues and core technology bottlenecks in the strategic needs of development for human health.
