On May 12th, in order to promote people-to-people cultural exchanges between China and other countries and enrich the campus life in the post pandemic era, the table tennis friendship match between Chinese and international students, sponsored by the International Office of Wuhan Textile University, International Education College, Research Institute of International People-to-People Exchange for Textile Industry and co-sponsored by People-to-People Exchange Association and the Silk Road Flower Rain Association, was held in the students activity room of the international exchange center. More than 20 students from 6 countries with different majors gathered together to learn table tennis skills from each other by exchanging views and enhancing mutual understanding and friendship.
On the match day, students came to the activity room in advance, earnestly preparing themselves for the match. They devoted themselves to the match with high-level energy and passion. During the match, all of them expressed themselves well and tried their best to complete every shot and smash, demonstrating the international sports spirits of respecting opponents and devoting fully. By the end of the match, Mei Xinming from the School of Accountancy won the first, and international students SEAN and DOMINUS won the second and third respectively.
IDRIS ABDUREZAK MOHAMMED, the leader of table tennis team for international students, said that international students learned a lot from nearly a month’s training and finally competed with Chinese students. In the near future, teachers and international students will continue to foster friendship by playing table tennis and exchanging skills and strive to achieve better rankings in the following friendly matches.
