WTU Teachers and Students Participated in the 6th United Nations China Youth Environment Forum

The 6th United Nations China Youth Environment Forum was held in Yangzhou from December 19th to 26th, 2021. Through the selection and recommendation by the International Office and the Research Institute of International People-to-People Exchanges for Textile Industry, over 10 students from environment engineering school was invited to attend the forum, and focused on the topics of ecological environment protection, shared the climate environment challenge with experts, scholars, and teenagers together online. During the online lecture session, WTU students’ team members listened the lecture with the topic of "Earth health and Human Health" delivered by Professor He Shengbing, chief researcher and doctoral supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Under the guidance of professional teachers, WTU students’ team members have done a lot of investigation and research work in the environmental protection and finished 1 research report, 2 scientific video and 5 research diaries. On March 4th, 2022, Based on the excellent performance, Zhang Qiuyue and other 5 students received the honorary certificates from the 6th United Nations China Youth Forum Committee.


It is reported that the United Nations China Youth Environment Forum has the history of 6 years, which was organized by the United Nations Environment Programme China Office. The forum has also received strong support from the World Historical and Cultural Cannel Cities Cooperation Organization, the China Center for Internatioanl People-to-People Cultural Exchange Ministry of Education, P.R.China, and Yangzhou Municipal People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. The forum focused on the theme of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Global Environment Outlook, as well as the restoration of the health of the air, biodiversity, oceans, land and fresh water for the earth, and jointly promoting the harmonious coexistence and sustainable development between mankind and the planet.
