In the Year of the Tiger, 27 international students chose to stay on campus for the Spring Festival. Although the outbreak of Covid-19 set barriers on their way back home, with the concern and support from the school party committee, the International Education College strived to provide life support for the students on compus through various channels. Not only did they feel the vigourous and happy atmosphere of the Year of Tiger, but also the charm of beautiful snowy Jiangcheng and the Beijing Winter Olympics made them feel the loving care and warmth of WTU.

On New Year’s Eve, international students put up couplets sent by International Education College on the two sides by their door and hung lanterns outside the dormitory. In the evening, the international students watched the Spring Festival Gala in their rooms. They were sometimes shocked by the magnificent songs and dances, and sometimes amazed by the beauty of traditional culture of the Poetic Dance " The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting”.

During the Spring Festival, international students also paid much attention to the Beijing Winter Olympics. On the evening of the fourth day of the Chinese New Year, international students sat down with Mr. Luo, the dormitory administrator, to watch the live broadcast of the Opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games. International students who have not returned to campus due to COVID-19 were also watching the Winter Olympics. With the beauty of snow and ice and the charm of sports, international students were attracted and enchanted by the spectacle of the opening ceremony. They also felt proud and took photos to showcase on the wechat group when their national teams appeared on the stage.

The international students said that they enjoyed the Chinese Spring Festival very much. Although they could not return to their own countries, they deeply felt the friendship conveyed by the Winter Olympics and the warmth of the Spring Festival, which made them very happy and moved.
