WTU held "Presenting Our Hometowns to the Outside World " the First Session of Wuhan Intercollegiate Multi-cultural Exchange Forum

On April 29th, the First Session of Wuhan Intercollegiate Multi-cultural Exchange Forum was held at the multimedia smart conference room of WTU international exchange center. The theme of the forum is “Presenting Our Hometowns to the Outside World”. More than one hundred Chinese and international teachers and students gathered together, and told their stories of different countries and cities, for the purpose of cultural exchange and mutual learning.

Professor Lin Li, Director of International Office and Dean of School of International Education, delivered a speech at the forum. She pointed out that "Presenting Our Hometowns to the Outside World" is a cultural activity arranged by every university for international students when they enter the university. This year, Wuhan Textile University works together with 10 universities in Wuhan for the first time and proposes to hold a multi-cultural exchange forum in turn in Wuhan. It is of great significance to promote the education practice of international students in Wuhan and the opening up of higher education in Hubei Province. It’s also hoped that the forum will become an international platform for China and the world to know each other. Professor Lin Li gave the first speech whose theme is "Presenting Our Hometowns to the Outside World". She combined her birth and life experience in Xinjiang, especially what she saw, heard and felt when visited her birthplace in Xinjiang in 2016, which vividly presented the wonderful life of people from all ethnic groups in Xinjiang under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.

Zuli, a Xinjiang Uygur student who majors in Internet of Things Engineering in the institute of Computer and Artificial Intelligence in our school, told us stories about the development of Xinjiang according to his own growth and the experience of college-entrance examination. Through the live connection, the SOE dispatched resident poverty alleviation cadre in Xinjiang explained the Party’s Central Committee's poverty alleviation policy in Xinjiang. The local residents described the process of anti-pandemic and people's living conditions after the pandemic. In the free-communication session, the international students talked about and discussed the breathtaking scenery, delicious food, culture and local customs of their hometowns. Students all talked with each other as if they were friends that hadn't met for a long time in the harmonious atmosphere.
