Recently, more than 100 international teachers and students from 10 universities including University of Science and Technology, Central China Normal University, China University of Geosciences, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Huazhong Agricultural University, South-Central Minzu University, Hubei University, Wuhan Institute of Technology, Wuhan Polytechnic University, Wuhan Sports University gathered at Sunshine Campus of WTU and participate in “Presenting Our Hometowns to the Outside World” — the First Session of Wuhan Intercollegiate Multi-cultural Exchange Forum & the “Experiencing China” Tour to WTU — Exhibition of “Fabric National Flag” Research for Chang’e 5 Lunar Mission.

Tian Huiyu, Party Secretary of WTU, said that today’s world is in a great change that has not happened in the past century. The challenges and risks faced by various industries all over the world emerge endlessly, and the uncertain factors of world development also increase. We should open our eyes to see the world, learn to rationally analyze everything in the complicated international situation with an open vision and broad mind, and objectively view the relationship between China and the world.

International students accompanied by the Chinese students from WTU associations “Prople-to-people Exchange Association” and “Silk Road Flower Road Association”, went to Technology Research Institute to visit the exhibition of “Fabric National Flag” Research. “Fabric National Flag” Research for Chang’e 5 Lunar Mission displayed in the exhibition hall, was developed by the team of President Xu Weilin of WTU. The researchers explained around the material characteristics and functions of the national flag, as well as the tough and difficult experiences in the developing process and the scientific stories. All of the students were deeply touched by the pioneering and innovative spirit of research workers of the school. Besides, Chinese and foreign teachers and students also visited State Key Laboratory of New Textile Materials and Advanced Processing Technology.

The international students said, through this activity, they experienced more intuitively the innovation and progress of science and technology in contemporary China . Basit·Adbu, a Pakistani postgraduate student, who study at mechanical engineering school of WTU, said he is willing to make joint efforts to build their hometowns and countries with Chinese students respectively and promote the peace of the world and the development of the humankind together.
