Recently, the unveiling ceremony of the Wuhan Branch & China Regional Office of the TI took place in the Sunshine campus of WTU. Present at the ceremony were Peng Yuyuan (President of WTU), Ms. Helen (Chairman of the TI), Mr. Trevor ( Council Member of the TI) .
The British Prime Minister Theresa May paid a visit to Wuhan in early 2018. After that, The UK Department for International Trade and British Consulate-General in Wuhan dispatched a delegation named "British Economic Engine" to Wuhan for the Ceremony for the Inaugural Wuhan-London Direct Flight and Commercial Signings. As the only two academic institutions invited, the TI and WTU attended the activity and signed an MOU.
Wuhan and
Britain
have maintained frequent exchanges for a long time. WTU is one of the leaders in the teaching and research of textile and fashion design in
China
and has produced multiple groundbreaking research results. Meanwhile, WTU is forging ahead in its internationalization drive, leading the Hubei Province in this area. This is one of the reasons why the TI chose to set up its
China
regional office in WTU.
