Recently, Lin li, Director of the International Office of Wuhan Textile University, delivered a speech on behalf of Chinese universities during the "Chinese-Hellenic Cooperation in Higher Education Forum", giving a brief account of the "open and characteristic development policy "of WTU.
Strengthening educational cooperation with 16 central and eastern European countries plays a significant role in “the Belt and Road” initiative in the new era. This visit to these countries led by the Ministry of Education is an important manifestation of the implementation of the “Budapest Outline of China-Central and Eastern European Countries Cooperation”, a document signed by Premier Li and his counterparts at the China-CEEC Leaders’ Confrence.
WTU has been taken cooperation with the research institutes and universities along the routes as the top priority in its internationalization cooperation and development since the Belt & Road initiative was put forward by the President Xi in 2013. We have turned out more than 300 high-level overseas graduate students from BRI countries and established partnerships with over 20 universities along the road. In 2018, we initiated and established the "Belt and Road Textile Higher Education Alliance" and joined the "China- CEEC Higher Education Institutions Consortium" to further exchanges and cooperation with universities in central and Eastern Europe as well as to make WTU even more international.
