On November 10th, Ms. Jiali Xia, the Science and Education Attaché of the Consulate General of France in Wuhan, led a delegation of five people to visit WTU. A meeting was held in the Xiongchu Hall of Jianquan Conference Center, where both sides had an in-depth exchange on deepening Sino-French educational and scientific cooperation. Officials from the International Office, the Science and Technology Development Institute, and the School of Life and Health Sciences attended the meeting.

Doctor Zou Manling, the deputy director of the International Office, expressed her warm welcome to Ms. Jia lixia and her delegation. She stated that WTU has always adhered to the concept of open education and has established cooperative relations with many famous French universities. Looking to the future, WTU hopes to achieve new breakthroughs in talent cultivation, joint construction of academic platforms, collaborative scientific research innovation, and integration of Sino-French cultural creativity under the support of the French Consulate General.

Ms. Jiali Xia expressed her sincere gratitude for the WTU's warm reception and highly praised the achievements made by the University in talent cultivation, scientific research, and international exchanges and cooperation. She emphasized that educational and scientific cooperation is an important pillar of Sino-French bilateral relations, and the French Consulate General in Wuhan will continue to play a bridging role, actively promoting communication and cooperation between the French scientific and educational community and the Textile University in areas such as bilateral student exchanges and joint scientific research, to promote dialogue between Chinese and French civilizations through educational exchanges.

During the working exchange session, Zhang Zhaowei, the executive dean of the School of Life and Health Sciences, introduced the school's internationalization efforts. He pointed out that Professor Serge Konychev, a member of the European Academy of Sciences and the director of research at the University of Grenoble-Alpes in France, was recently invited as a special guest of the "World Famous Scientists Visiting Hubei" program in 2025. He visited WTU to participate in the International Symposium on Lifespan Health Science and Technology and will conduct a series of lectures and exchanges. Zhang Zhaowei stated that the school is relying on the foreign expert lecture mode to continuously promote joint cultivation of master's and doctoral students, scientific research cooperation, and the construction of platform & bases.

Professor Serge Konychev expressed great expectations for the cooperation between the two universities. He believes that the University of Grenoble has strong capabilities in materials science and health engineering, which are highly consistent and complementary to the research directions of the School of Life and Health Sciences. He hopes to assist in promoting cooperation between the two universities in joint PhD. training and scientific research.

After the discussion, the delegation visited the Textile Science and Technology Museum.
