On the afternoon of November 4th, The Seminar on Laos Digital Economy and Import-Export Trade, hosted by Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by Wuhan textile University(WTU), officially opened in Wuhan. Thirty participants from Laos’ Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology and Information, and Ministry of Finance and representatives from WTU International Office and the Center for Foreign Aid Project Management celebrated the opening ceremony with warmth and enthusiasm.

Ji Chen, Director of the Center for Foreign Aid Project Management, delivered a welcoming speech, highlighting the deep-rooted friendship between China and Laos—neighbors connected not only by geography but also by shared culture and mutual respect. He noted that cooperation in the digital economy has become an increasingly important pillar of bilateral collaboration. He emphasized that this seminar draws on Wuhan Textile University’s expertise in textile cross-border e-commerce and digital supply chain management, offering a meaningful platform to share practical insights and experiences so as to support Laos’ development.

On behalf of the participants, Ms. Vongphachanh VONGPADITH, Director of the Northern Finance and Economics College under the Ministry of Finance of the Lao PDR, delivered a statement. She extended her sincere appreciation to the Chinese side for the meticulous planning and organization of the seminar, and highlighted that China has consistently provided substantial support to Laos in the field of trade, investment, agriculture, and education over an extended period. She noted this enduring cooperation exemplifies the two nations’ commitment to building a community with a shared future. She emphasized that with the aim of supporting industrial upgrading and sustainable economic growth in Laos, she highly value this training opportunity and will be committed to gaining in-depth understanding of China’s advanced concepts and practical experiences in digital economy development and import-export trade.


This 14-day training program is designed to focus on key areas, including digital infrastructure, cross-border e-commerce, and smart logistics. As part of the curriculum, participants will visits to famous enterprises and leading cross-border e-commerce platforms in Shanghai and Wuhan so as to gain an in-depth understanding of the innovative integration and development models of China's digital economy and import & export trade business.
