Recently, the second "East Lake Forum" International Academic Symposium was held in Wuhan, jointly organized by the School of International Education and the School of Pharmacy of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The foreign experts, postdoctoral researchers and international students of our university won a total of seven awards, including the second prize for poster presentation, the excellence award for thematic reports and the title of "Best Speaker", with their cutting-edge research achievements and outstanding on-site performances, becoming one of the highlights of this forum.

The awarded achievements cover multiple cutting-edge research fields, fully demonstrating the characteristics of cross-disciplinary collaborative innovation. Associate Professor Zareen Zuhra's team from the School of Bioengineering and Health proposed a micro plastic photocatalytic degradation technology based on trimetallic PCN-250 materials, significantly enhancing the degradation efficiency through the synergistic effect of multiple metals, opening up a new path to address the global micro plastic pollution problem. Associate Professor Aimal Khan's team from the School of Chemical Engineering constructed a manganese-based nano-catalytic system, achieving efficient removal of antibiotics in water, providing a feasible technical solution for ensuring water safety. Postdoctoral researcher Wajid Hussain from the School of Bioengineering and Health developed an electrochemical biosensor based on bacteriophages and bacterial cellulose, which has the ability to detect pathogenic bacteria with high sensitivity and has significant application value.

In the poster presentation session, under the guidance of supervisor Zareen Zuhra, the international student KHAN MUHAMMAD HARIS, systematically presented the research on micro plastic pollution control with the title "Trimetallic PCN-250 MOFs for synergistic radical-mediated photocatalytic degradation of micro plastics". During the academic exchange process, the international students answered the experts' questions with professional expressions and received unanimous praise, demonstrating their excellent qualities in scientific research and critical thinking innovation.

The "East Lake Forum" International Academic Symposium is dedicated to promoting high-level academic exchanges among international scholars and postgraduate students in Wuhan universities. In the future, WTU will continue to deepen international academic exchanges and assist global outstanding talents in playing a greater role in scientific research and innovation.
