On the afternoon of Sep. 23^rd, WTU opening ceremony for the international students 2021 was successfully held at the smart conference room of international exchange center in the Sunshine Campus. Deputy President Huang Yunping, the leaders and teachers from International Office, Postgraduate Dept., the schools where the international students will study, and over 20 international students representative attended the ceremony. The opening ceremony was also broadcast live online through Tencent conference software. More than 100 international freshmen from 23 countries participated in the ceremony online, 146 international students started a new journey of study at WTU together.

Huang Yunping, Deputy President of WTU, delivered a splendid speech. On behalf of WTU, she expressed sincere welcome to all international students and thanks to the CSC ( China Scholarship Council) for its support and trust. He briefly introduced history, philosophy and development status of international education and training for international students of WTU. In addition, he hoped that international students will cherish the opportunity to study in China , do a good planning on study, enjoy the comfortable study environment, and take advantage of various study resources to become the bridges and messengers of friendly exchanges between China and foreign countries. Meanwhile, She hoped that all students should visit more places in Wuhan & China, learn more about the real  China  image, become ambassadors for people-to-people exchanges with other countries, as well as to make contribution to promoting people-to-people exchange and peace & progress of the humankind. In the end, she sincerely wished all the students and their families who are not in China safe & well and looked forward to getting together at WTU in the near future.

Feng Yan, the teacher from management school, expressed his sincere welcome to the students from 23 countries of the five continents, He pointed out that it is of great significance for the college, the university and even the counties that such a host of international students could gather together to be on the campus with enthusiasm about study. He also believed that they will have an unforgettable time in the college that is full of humanistic care. Meanwhile, he introduced the basic picture of Management School of WTU to the international students in terms of disciplinary system, strengths of faculty, research achievements and management services, with emphasis on the highlights of WTU education and training for international students. He pointed out that the School will support the study and life of international students in China to the largest extent in all aspects. He expected that they can accumulate rich knowledge and learn from China ’s development models and experience, and then apply the advanced approaches and achievements to the development of their own countries, thus to truly benefit their people and social development.

The international freshman representative Da Shan from Russia addressed. He thanked the teachers and students of WTU for their care and support to international students, and then talked about her unforgettable experiences during the year in China in fluent Chinese. He said that, he was deeply moved to witness the Chinese government and China Communist Party fighted against the Covid 19 epidemic with the philosophy of people-centered.

At the end of the ceremony, the police officers from Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau gave lectures on Chinese legal knowledge to all 2021 international freshmen.

The opening ceremony was successfully concluded with a cozy group photo of all the guests, teachers and students present. Through this opening ceremony, international students have a deeper understanding of the humanistic spirit and development goals of WTU. Meanwhile, they have a more concrete comprehension towards international education and training strengths. It has further enhanced their acknowledgement and sense of belonging towards the university, and set the foundation and clear directions for their future study and life planning in  China .
