President Xu Weilin said at the webinar that the current Covid-19 crisis has not yet been resolved and the international situation is tumultuous. The development of the textile industry is facing difficulties. As such, we need to establish a sense of a community of a shared future, collaborate with each other and seek common development. The global textile and apparel universities and enterprises should further deepen the mutual exchanges and cooperation and make joint efforts to intensify cooperation in the fields such as talent cultivation, scientific research, cultural and people-to-people exchanges and university-enterprise collaboration, and continue to expand cooperation scope by leveraging the advantages of the international platforms in resources sharing and win-win cooperation. We can further improve international cooperation, upgrade patterns of teaching and education, and blaze new trails in the industry. In the end, President Xu said that WTU is ready to work with all of the partners to create more industrial value and make more industrial breakthroughs via its international cooperation programs. With joint efforts, we can buck the trend, tide over the current challenges, and shape a better future for the global textile and fashion industries and higher education sector in the post-pandemic era.
