Recently, the Shanghai fashion week 2020 theme activity-- China Han Costume Design Contest Final Award Ceremony ended at the Shanghai international fashion center. Since its launch in November 2019, the competition has attracted thousands of designers to participate in. 27 groups of works entered the final. In the end, the graduate student Chen Yonghua from School of Fashion of Wuhan Textile University won the gold medal.
With the theme of "National fashion and Han style", the competition showed Chinese culture to the world by using the carrier of Traditional Chinese clothing, Han Costume. Chen Yonghua' s work adopted the match of gold and sky blue, giving people the aesthetic feeling of the fusion of tradition and modernity. At the same time, the clothing pattern of the work adopted the traditional kylin element, which implies a happy family. In terms of clothing style, it realized the combination of Ming dynasty official clothing, Bijia and other forms with contemporary clothing fashion.
The School of Fashion has always paid attention to the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, encouraged students to actively participate in competitions to promote learning, and strived to improve students' professional quality and practical ability. Chen Yonghua said that she couldn't have won the championship without the guidance and training of professional teachers. In her future study and career, she would continue to make efforts to display and promote Chinese clothing culture to the world, so that the world can have a better understanding of Chinese clothing culture.
