Recently, the general office of Organization Department of the CPC’s Central Committee has promulgated the notification for publicizing the selected candidates of the fourth batch of national “Ten-thousand Talents program for global experts” candidates. Prof. Wang Dong, a representative of WTU’s faculty, has been selected as candidate of the top young talents (natural science category) with the financial support of 2.4 million RMB yuan (the highest support of this kind). Wang Dong, as the only selected candidate of regional universities in Hubei Province to accomplish this goal, has witnessed such a breakthrough in WTU’s bid for national talents reserve program.
The full name of National “Ten-thousand Talents Program for Global Experts” is also referred to as “National High-level Talents Special Supporting Program”. As a major national-level talents recruitment program, its overall objective aims at selecting a batch of outstanding talents, leading talents, and top-notch talents in the field of natural science, engineering technology, as well as philosophy and social sciences with special supports within 10 years. The fourth batch of National “Ten-thousand Talents Program for Global Experts”, consisting of 1,419 selected candidates in all, can be classified into two categories, of whom there are 645 pioneering talents in scientific and technological innovation, 397 leading talents in scientific and technological entrepreneurship, 103 excellent teachers, 274 top-notch young talents (including 210 candidates in natural sciences, as well as 64 candidates in philosophy, social sciences, humanities and arts).
