On the morning of October 9th, the appointment ceremony for visiting professors and international academic report meeting of Wuhan Textile University was held in the Conference Room 112 of the Administrative Building in the Sunshine Campus. Professor Alejandro Cifuentes, foodomics expert from the Spanish National Research Council, and Professor Elena Ibanez from the Spanish Institute of Food Science, were appointed as visiting professors of our university. Vice President Fu Xin attended the ceremony, which was hosted by Zhang Zhaowei, the Vice President of the School of Bioengineering and Health.

Fu Xin extended warm welcome to the two experts  and delivered a detailed introduction to the achievements of our school in talent cultivation, subject construction, and international development to the Spanish guests. He wished that both sides should actively carry out exchanges and cooperation, strive to make breakthroughs in the construction of international joint laboratories and international talent cultivation and research, benefit the health of the Chinese and Western people through international cooperation in the fields of higher education, and provide scientific theory and technical support to the development of the industry of life and health.

After the ceremony, Professor Alejandro Cifuentes and Professor Elena Ibanez separately gave academic reports to all the teachers and students attending the conference on the topics of “Foodomics and Alzheimer: the significance for future food” and “New methodologies for improving safety and bioactivity in Green Foodomics”
