WTU Witnessed Agreement Signing Ceremony of China’s First Research Institute of International People-to-People Exchange

On June 28, the agreement signing ceremony of the Research Institute of International People-to-People Exchange for Textile Industry was held at the International Exchange Center of WTU. This institute is the first of its kind in China . Du Kewei, Director of the International People-to-People Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education, and Peng Yuyuan, President of Wuhan Textile University, signed a formal agreement on behalf of the two partners to start up the construction work in Wuhan. Also present were a dozen textile experts and professionals from Uzbekistan , Pakistan , Turkey , Libya , Azerbaijani, etc. as well as more than 50 heads of school departmentsWTU.

The establishment of this institute is an important step to further implement President Xi’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for an New Era, the spirit of the Nineteenth National Congress of the CPC and the National Education Conference, and the Several Opinions on Strengthening and Improving the Work of Sino-Foreign People-to People Exchange jointed produced by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.


The agreement states that in accordance with the principles of equality and mutual trust, complementarily of advantages, resource sharing and coordinated development, the two sides will exploit the strengths of WTU and the Center in terms of policy, intelligence, talents and scientific research, and take the institute as a platform to meet Chinese textile enterprises’ needs of going abroad, upgrading themselves and achieving strategic development and so on. It will promote closer integration among research, people-to-people exchanges and industrial development; enhance the cultural influence and social image of the textile industry; boost the competitiveness and influence of Chinese textile enterprises in domestic and foreign markets. By doing this, we can contribute our fair share to the development of "The Belt and Road Initiative", the Yangtze River Economic Zone, open inland regions, the Center, and Hubei’s society and economy.
