Closer Ties between Wuhan Textile University and Kyushu University —— Report on Prof. Ghanai Kuga’s Visit for Further Cooperation

Resently, Prof. Ghanai Kuga, a Japanese scholar from Kyushu University, paid a visit to WTU for the feasibility of further cooperation. Liu Zaizhou, the deputy secretary of WTU’s party committee, met Prof. Ghanai Kuga and her delegation. The executives of Department of Science and Technology, Department of International Exchanges and Communications, Institute of Technical Research and School of Management also participated in the meeting. Both parties exchanged their views and reached a preliminary consensus on the basis of probing into the feasibility of international exchange, talent cultivation and scientific collaboration.


On behalf of WTU, Liu welcomed Prof. Ghanai Kuga for her visit by briefly introducing the development history of WTU as well as its discipline features, campus construction, the present situation of international exchanges and communications as well as its future perspectives. He also expressed his wishes for furthering the bilateral exchange of teachers and students between WTU and Kyushu University. Liu stated that it was high time that WTU took the initiative to conduct mutual visits and joint collaborations on research projects with Kyushu University between faculty members. It is hopeful that a long-term and sustainable collaboration be built between the two universities by conducting short-term exchanges between the teachers and students, as well as dispatching WTU’s excellent students to Kyushu University for further study and encouraging mutual visits between teachers of WTU and Kyushu  University.


On expressing her gratitude for hospitality of the host, Prof. Ghanai Kuga warmly applauded for WTU’s ideology, initiatives, and achievements in education as well as delivering an introduction of Kyushu  University. Founded in 1903, Kyushu University, with its headquarter in Fukuoka Prefecture of Japan, is a top-notch research-oriented national comprehensive higher-education institute taking a vital academic status both in Japan and the world. She also delivered her gratitude for Prof. Cao Yong of School of Management, who was officially dispatched by China Scholarship Council (CSC) to School of Business in Kyushu University as a senior visiting scholar and guest professor during 2016-2017. With the fruitful joint-study with Japanese counterparts and the establishment of stable academic cooperation, the visit of Prof. Ghanai Kuga is bound to expand the scope of cooperation and explore new areas of cooperation on the basis of consolidating the achievements of preliminary cooperation in the previous years.


After the meeting, Prof. Ghanai Kuga also visited Institute of Technical Research of Wuhan Textile University (WTU).
